About:
My Sweet Second Home was established in August 2019. I am located in East Dayton. I accept ages up to 4 years old. Before opening my private daycare, I nannied for infants and have other professional childcare experience. I have 10+ years of experience with this age group specifically. I consider myself to be loving, fun, gentle and an extremely trustworthy childcare provider. You can count on me to make sure your children are safe and secure as well as nurtured and loved while in my care! I have been previously CPR & First Aid Certified for all ages.

Infant Care
During the week, I make it a priority to provide a safe and inviting environment for everyone. I am here to provide the quality care your children deserve! From the beginning, I make sure to help children hit every key developmental milestone for their age. For infants this can start with tummy time, rolling over and starting to grab at toys. I am very communicative with parents about their childs' day and mood. I send a daily log and pictures/videos throughout the week.. My full time rate is $255 weekly. Part time is $61 daily.
Toddler Care
I provide Montessori inspired care. My playroom gives your infant or toddler the freedom to safely explore and learn through discovery. The setting is calm, inviting, and homelike, with rugs, artwork, books arrayed on low shelves and toys in baskets. It is also important to me to help children learn their emotional needs and to work through them independently or together. I do not do "time-outs." I have a "calm-down corner" where a toddler can have time to themselves to regulate their emotions if needed. They can read a book to themselves, color, sit on a couch with their favorite stuffed animal, do a puzzle, etc. We then talk, hug it out (if they want to,) and get back to playing. My full time rate is $255 weekly. Part time is $61 daily.
Babysitting/Date Nights
I provide occasional date-night/weekend care in your home or mine. My rate starts at only $10 hourly and goes up by $2 per child. Years of experience have made it clear that parents often need a quality childcare provider that they trust on short notice. I do my best to accommodate all of my clients needs, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with special requests or concerns you may have!
Drop-in Care
If you need occasional childcare for your infant or toddler, I can help! I offer drop-in childcare for $70 for the day or $10 per hour. Drop-in care must be paid for at drop-off. I will make sure you and your child feel comfortable throughout the day. For you, I will update you with pictures/videos and a log of their day. For your child, I will introduce them to all their new friends and make sure to give them what they need to make their day great!

When it was time to put our (now almost 1 year old!) son in daycare, it was a very difficult decision. He had been in the hospital for 6 months, and had health issues that meant he couldn't just go anywhere for daycare. I called several providers that just didn't seem to be able to provide attentive care. The first time I spoke to this one, however, wow! SO knowledgeable and caring. Every day since then, she has been nothing short of amazing. Incredibly attentive, very informative, and always willing to work with parents and assist with the child's needs. And maybe, the most pleasant person ever! I'll be the first to say, I've had years of experience in social service, and years as a police officer; you're really not going to find a better provider than MSSH. I would give this 10 out of 10 stars for sure.

This is our first experience with putting our two year old in daycare. I was so nervous! Elyse is literally the best. We went in to check the space out ahead of time. As soon as she opened the door my son ran and gave her a hug. He doesn't normally run up to strangers and hug them. We proceeded to check out the play room and he thought it was the coolest little area. He ran and played and didn't want to leave. His first week of day care was so smooth. He would get excited to go, run to get his stuff and give her a hug. By the second week he realized I wasn't coming with and would get sad before going. Little bit of separation anxiety, but even with his tears Elyse was so quick and gentle to calm him down and help him still have a wonderful day!
She gives daily logs so I know what he ate, how many diapers he went through and what they did and his overall mood of the day! Plus pictures!
Her prices are beyond reasonable, the kids are all aged 0-4 so my son is able to play and learn with a group of kids his own age.
The best part- the whole experience has helped him start talking! He is a little speech delayed, but being around all the other kids his own age and with Elyse's wonderful day to day lessons he has started speaking so well! The very first week he came home and started talking about "baby" referring to one of his new friends at day care.
We are beyond blessed to have found this place! 10/10 would recommend!

"She tracks and openly communicates daily activities really well, I know what type of day my child had. The pictures she sends of my child are always a treat!
My child is always happy to see her, and lights up when she is talking. She finds different ways to entertain and let him entertain himself throughout the day, with encouraged tummy tummy and other developmental activities.
She's also be tremendous in helping us stick to a schedule that works best for our family.
I appreciate and feel comfortable with the space she is using. It's always clean when I'm there, and she is very thorough with her planning and organization."

Elyse is absolutely great!!! She was able to schedule me in with less than 24 hour notice and ease my mind. She did a ton of activities with my one year old and looked after my new born. I was informed on wet and dirty diapers, feedings and nap times to the minute. When I picked up my girls they both were clean and well fed with BIG smiles! My oldest was comfortable from the get go. Thank you for having such an incredible place and we will definitely see you in the future!
